Air Travel

My very first dancing trip abroad was about 10 years ago to (what was then) Yugoslavia, (now Bosnia) my first plane journey as well. I don't know which one made me the most nervous. Taking the advice of the Lady at the check in counter I took a window seat and had a wonderful flight over.
It was a little windy on landing and the plane bumped several times and skewed along the runway. I was most surprised to find my fellow passengers white-faced and shaken, to me this was to be expected on landing - I had only ever seen plane landings on disaster movies so this one seemed better than those !

All of the people and public I met whilst in Yugoslavia, and on subsequent return visits, were very warm & hospitable, It's a beautiful country and sickening to see it torn-apart by the ravages of war. A few years later I was dancing in Sarevo, the year after the Winter Olympics where held there.
The city was a jewel, now its mostly rubble. I have a photograph taken there of a city view with a rainbow behind the minarets, I dread to think what the view from the same point would be like now.
